Artistic and Teaching Profile
Ines Schüttengruber is an organist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). She has taught at university level since 2010, at the Institute of Organ since 2012, and at the Institute of Concert Piano since 2015. Her teaching encompasses organ, piano, and historical keyboard instruments.
She completed her organ performance degree at mdw with Peter Planyavsky, graduating with distinction. Further studies in piano and harpsichord, together with a period of study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Jacques van Oortmerssen and Menno van Delft, complemented her education.
As an organist, she performs internationally both as a soloist and with leading orchestras. She has a particularly close and regular collaboration with the Vienna Philharmonic. Concert tours and engagements have taken her to venues and festivals including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Salzburg Festival, the Vienna Musikverein, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and the Semperoper Dresden, as well as to Amsterdam, Italy, France, the United States, Indonesia, and Japan.
She has worked with conductors including Christian Thielemann, Franz Welser-Möst, Gustavo Dudamel, Herbert Blomstedt, Andris Nelsons, Riccardo Muti, Jakub Hrůša, and Thomas Guggeis. Alongside her performing and teaching activities, she is Artistic Director of the Summer Concerts at Melk Abbey.

Chamber Music and Further Artistic Work
Performances have included appearances at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Semperoper Dresden, Hamburg State Opera, and Vienna Konzerthaus, including duo projects with Nikolaus Habjan. She collaborates in chamber music with members of the Vienna Philharmonic and is a member of Ensemble Frullato with musicians of the Vienna Symphony, including performances at the Bregenz Festival.
Historical Keyboard Instruments and Recordings
CD recording on the 1813 Nannette Streicher fortepiano from the collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, released by Gramola. In 2024, she performed a concert at the Vienna Musikverein on historical keyboard instruments, including pedal piano.
Artistic Direction
Artistic Director of the Summer Concerts at Melk Abbey · Conception and artistic direction of the annual concert series held each August.
